From Here To Paternity: The Diary of A Pregnant Man

NEW EDITION with a foreword by the author. Reviews of FROM HERE TO PATERNITY: “If you've just found out you're pregnant, go buy this book today for both yourself and your partner. 5 stars.” “I've worked my way through a few of these dad-to-be books. This by far is the very best.” “One of the best guides we bought. Fab!” “Extremely helpful. This book is a good read and is very funny in parts.” “Brilliant. In addition to being very funny and well-written in a diary format, this book is packed with practical information, useful tips and helps translate much of the medical jargon. Hearing me laugh while reading it, my wife became jealous as she struggled with the textbook-style pregnancy books - in the end she read the book as well and really enjoyed it.” “I loved this book...and when I give it back to my husband, who was reading it, I'm sure he will say the same. I have never laughed out loud or cried out loud with such frequency through one book. The story is so very familiar, but told with such wit that it really is uplifting - so refreshing after months of reading Gina and What to Expect.” “Heart-warming, funny and insightful.” “Realistic, witty and heartfelt. A great read for all dads-to-be. At times it’s hilariously funny.” “Informative and funny. Would deffo recommend for all those first-time dads out there.” “It is a really good book - a diary kept by a pregnant woman's boyfriend throughout her pregnancy - but is very honest and deals with some difficult issues. I'm now at the end of my pregnancy and with the benefit of hindsight I can see that much of what he records in his diary is accurate, frequently funny and probably universal.” “I originally bought this book for my husband, but wound up stealing it when my own pregnancy books got a bit dull. From beginning to end, it charts without apology the intimate ups-and-downs of a modern London couple. Andrew's style is reliable and witty - he makes you feel like they are a couple you've always been friends with. You laugh with their joys...” “I bought this for my fiance. He loves it. It's honest, funny and touching...”

4The Title Says It All
By Dora
All the things. This book covers all the things. There is some repetition, and it can be a bit bogged down, but chances are - if you have a question about a life-issue (how do I remove those stubborn stains - what should I look for when purchasing x, y, and/or z), this book has the answer. Nailed it. I've had this book for about a year now and it has proven itself worthy beyond its purchase price.

Since this was made in England though, it was actually an entertaining read. I didn't find much of use in so far as actual trade secrets though.

Contact: A Dad's Communication From the Other Side With His

What happens to our loved ones when they die? Can we still communicate with them after they’ve breathed their last? A few years ago, Kimberley Bouchard probably would have skirted this question, not believing it likely—but not wanting to eliminate the prospect, either. But now this ordinary wife and mother can testify that contact is, in fact, possible.

After her beloved father passes away, Kimberley faces the slow, grueling path of grief. How could she go back to a normal life with such a heartbreaking void? Pressing on as best she can, she is astounded when she suddenly starts receiving messages from her late father. What began as a deeply personal communication between them is now a source of wisdom and encouragement that she wants to share with others struggling with the weight of grief in their own lives.

Astonishingly hopeful, Contact reveals an unseen reality and illustrates the unbreakable power of love that connects us even beyond death. You can’t escape hardship and loss, but you can overcome it with an unfathomable peace when you realize you haven’t been left behind.

Kimberley Bouchard is an educator, entrepreneur, and author with a bachelor of education from the University of Alberta. Originally from Canada, she now resides in the Seattle area with her husband and their three children. She is passionate about inspiring real-life stories, so if you want to share your own experiences with her for future publication or simply send her a personal note, you can reach her at author@kimberleybouchard.com.

5Filled with hope and love.
By m
In each wonderfully narrated chapter, Kimberly gives us hope and inspiration through her recounting of the communications with her father after his passing. I was engrossed and wanted to hear more stories of how his presence has manifested itself in her life and that of her children. The anecdotes filled me with hope as I view my own parents' ageing and leave me with a sense of peace in knowing I will eventually have to deal with their own passing.

5Very Moving
By Amazon Customer
Every stage of this book moved me in different way. It brought back memories that made me feel sad, joyful, grateful and wrapped in hope that there is always a way to make amends by saying "I'm sorry", "I miss you" and expressing all our feelings to our loved ones that have already left. There is something special in knowing that there are no last words and that the road never ends - it's just a bridge to cross.

5Very moving and inspiring
By Chach
A beautifully written book – it feels like Kimberly is at my kitchen table telling me her story. Knowing that we can continue to feel our parents’ presence after they leave is a great source of comfort to me; to step away from a hectic busy schedule and be still and feel their presence is heartwarming. You will want to read more!

Masked Decisions: The Triangular Life of Dick 'The Destroyer' 'Doctor

He is the most ornery, cantankerous rule-breaker the sports world has ever seen. Seventy million people witnessed his pioneering event. While his athleticism is unparalleled, it is his persona - as The Destroyer and later Doctor X - that earns the reverence of people worldwide...yet few have seen his face. Masked Decisions paints an in-depth portrait of Dick Beyer's unexpected journey from a working-class Buffalo upbringing to a sports standout at Syracuse University to a world class wrestling trailblazer. Along the way, readers are given front-row seats to experiences and decisions that took a Depression-era boy into a euphoric future. An inspirational story of family, personal resolve and making the best of situations, it resonates with today's headlines. Researched and written over three years, the book presents the never-before-revealed backstory of the athletically gifted Beyer. While working toward two college degrees, Beyer inadvertently morphed into one of the most compelling amateur sports stars of his era. He co-captained his football team to its first bowl appearance, was chosen Syracuse University's 'athlete of the year', medaled in national wrestling tournaments, and while on the coaching staff of Ben Schwartzwalder, mentored freshman Jim Brown, helped guide the 1959 team to a national championship, and developed the offensive line that propelled Ernie Davis to the Heisman Trophy, before taking up professional wrestling full time. Through early television broadcasts of wrestling, Beyer gained respect, but not marquee status, until a Los Angeles promoter put him in a mask and named him The Destroyer. At first, Beyer detested the gimmick, but soon realized he had an opportunity for something unique. However, even Beyer could not foresee how his life would dramatically change after a match with the father of Japanese wrestling thrust him into the spotlight. The Destroyer became an international star and Japan's biggest media celebrity, but soon his world would be rocked. More than a celebrity sports bio, Masked Decisions underlines the human emotions and consequences associated with fame, faults and fortitude. Ultimately, Beyer's most significant and lasting achievement is realized not in the ring but outside it. His example influenced many, and his story will inspire many more.

5Couldn't put it down!!!
By Olivia Z
I got this book because I love biographies and I found this one a great read! From the opening chapter, which explains how Dick Beyer became 'The Destroyer', to his emotional finale, I was riveted by the twists and turns this man's life takes. But if you think this is just another book about a sports figure, you will be very surprised. While it is filled with college football and wrestling stories, there is so much more. It's a saga about a man's triumphs and heartbreaks, and the impact his decisions have on the people closest to him. However, I was impressed by the fact that no matter what adversity he faces, he stays true to himself. The book is loaded with vivid descriptions, and the humor and tragedy woven throughout allow the reader to feel the gamut of emotions. It is truly an inspirational story, with something in it for everyone; you don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy this one. I found it hard to believe this man hasn't been written about previously. Highly recommended.

5The MAIN EVENT of wrestling books published to date.
By George Schire
I waited a long time for this one. When I got an email from Dick Beyer telling me that it was finally available, I couldn't wait to not only get it, but read it. This is a fascinating story about a true "Living Legend", and one of the most interesting and intriqing characters the pro wrestling business ever saw climb into a ring. From his earliest beginnings, to his retirement from the squared circle, "Masked Decisions" is a book that you won't be able to put down.

As a young journeyman in the 1950's, Beyer colorfully creates a visual picture of the wrestling scene in the territorial days. And then in 1962, the legend, "The Destroyer" was born! Not by his own choosing in the beginning, but soon, the mask wisked away humble Dick Beyer, and gave the promoters and the fans, a wrestler that was always guaranteed to electrify them.

Over the course of his career, Beyer, the Destroyer, and in between, Doctor X, carved out a ring record that is second to no one else in wrestling before or since. All the big stars of his era are included in his memories: Freddie Blassie, Giant Baba, Verne Gagne, Lou Thesz, Rikidozan, Hard Boiled Haggerty, Don Manoukian, Art Michalik, and even Gorgeous George. And in his AWA days as Doctor X, the gallery of stars that either faced or teamed with him is a who's who of the business. Names like Igor Vodik, Crusher Lisowski, Dick the Bruiser, Wilbur Snyder, Edouard Carpentier, Cowboy Bill Watts, Paul Diamond, Mad Dog Vachon, Black Jack Lanza, Harley Race, Larry Hennig, Nick Bockwinkel, Billy Robinson, Lars Anderson, and even his famous brother-in-law Billy Red Lyons.

And Dick doesn't just tell us about his career, he also shares many personal highs and lows in his personal life as well. Stories about his family, the hardship of traveling, and about the two great women that helped him through it all.

Over the last decade or so, there have been literally dozens of wrestler and wrestling books published, but "Masked Decisions" is the main event of them all. This is the one you don't want to pass up! And my special thanks to Dick Beyer for all the many years of friendship he's given me. I'm honored beyond words.

5Masked Decisions: The Triangular Life
By Don Manoukian
This is an athletic/academic inspiring history of a coach, mentor, teacher, and businessman who holds a Masters Degree and just happens to be a world renown professional wrestler. His physical and athletic skills have enabled him to travel the world and win the acclaim of not only his fans but his peers as well. "The Destroyer" has created a life that has no twilight or no "just fading away" to it (like General Mc Arthur). His boundless energy and genuine interest in other people should serve as a reminder to us all that life is a cornucopia of friends and endless learning. I am looking forward to "Mr" Beyers next book when he celebrates his 90th. We thank him for sharing his memories and thoughts with us.

Two Old Fools on a Camel: From Spain to Bahrain

The  OLD FOOLS Series
  • #1 Chickens, Mules and Two Old Fools
  • #2 Two Old Fools ~ Olé!
  • #3 Two Old Fools on a Camel (New York Times bestseller)
  • #4 Two Old Fools in Spain Again
Reluctantly, Vicky and Joe leave their Spanish mountain village to work for a year in the Middle East. How could they know that the Arab revolution was poised to erupt, throwing them into violent events that would make world headlines?

Teaching Arab kids, working with crazy teachers, forming life-long friendships and being placed under house arrest, Vicky and Joe laugh and lurch through their year in Bahrain.

With grateful thanks to Nadia Sawalha for the wonderful Arabic recipes.

Victoria Twead is a New York Times bestselling author.

In 2004 Victoria nagged poor, long-suffering Joe into leaving Britain and relocating to a tiny, remote mountain village in Andalucía where they became reluctant chicken farmers and owned the most dangerous cockerel in Spain. Village life inspired Victoria's first book, Chickens, Mules and Two Old Fools, which was quickly followed by more, all of which fast became Amazon bestsellers.

Victoria and Joe continue to enjoy life keeping chickens, writing, helping authors publish their books, sampling the local wine and living alongside their colourful neighbours.

All three books in the Old Fools series have reached the Amazon Top 50 Bestseller list.

5You will read this over and over!
By c olausen
I don't ever write reviews but... Victoria Tweed's Trilogies of Two Old Fools are too wonderful and funny not to let everyone in on! I prefer biographies so when I was searching the Kindle store I found the first in the series. Chickens, Mules and Two Old Fools. I could not put it down. Chickens is about Victoria and her Husband Joe and their very daring move from England to a tiny village in the moutains of Spain. You will find yourself laughing out loud and yearning to be right there with them! If you want hours of enjoyable reading buy this books. You will not be disappointed.

5Two Old Fools on a Camel
By Amazon Customer
Up until now "Chickens" was my favorite of Victoria Tweeds books but "Two Old Fools on a Camel" with its insite into a terrible time in world history surpasses it. It is riviting. She and her Joe live their normal day to day lives in the middle of the chaos of a war and teaching of school in a culture different from Spain or England. They did finally meet some of the King's camels and Victoria always with a heart for a beast painted a loving picture of them. The children,Fatima's overbearing mother, the insane teacher no one could stand, their own desire to be back at home in Spain all contribute to a wonderful story. Two Old Fools on a Camel ~ From Spain to Bahrain and back again
