3Maybe useful for a trip to Goa or Goa/Mumbai, but not for one to Mumbai
By Brian Baker
I recently took a vacation to Mumbai and picked this guide up in addition to the Lonely Planet India guidebook. I was hoping this book would have extra information on Mumbai that the India book did not have, but the Mumbai section of this book turned out to just be the Mumbai chapter from the India guide with no noticeable additions. This guidebook also lacks info about trips to take from Mumbai in Maharashtra that was in the India book.

If you are going to Mumbai but not Goa, just get the India guidebook and pass on this one.

3Practical information on Goa and Mumbai
By Phil Hansotia
This is an excellent guide to practical information on the district of Goa, and the city of Mumbai. It describes both places with recommendations on hotels, sight-seeing, local customs and travel, but is short on history and other background information. The section on Goa is a bit more elaborate than the one on Mumbai. An excellent value for the price. I purchased a used volume (2009) and found it quite adequate.
