Nick Bruno is a freelance travel writer and journalist from North London. He has lived in Naples and Venice and spends lots of time in Italy visiting family and friends. After working as a tour guide, a translator and for an outdoor outfitter, peddling haversacks and breathable base layers to the masses, he swapped life in The Smoke for sunny Dundee and the love of a bad woman.

Shona Main grew up in Shetland and, after moving to the mainland, spent her most informative years working on magazines for teenagers. Following short-lived and rather un-momentous careers in law and politics, she met Nick and returned to writing. She now lives a double life as social work lobbyist by day and contributor to newspapers and books by night. Both love to get away almost as much as they love to come back.
