From Here To Paternity: The Diary of A Pregnant Man

NEW EDITION with a foreword by the author. Reviews of FROM HERE TO PATERNITY: “If you've just found out you're pregnant, go buy this book today for both yourself and your partner. 5 stars.” “I've worked my way through a few of these dad-to-be books. This by far is the very best.” “One of the best guides we bought. Fab!” “Extremely helpful. This book is a good read and is very funny in parts.” “Brilliant. In addition to being very funny and well-written in a diary format, this book is packed with practical information, useful tips and helps translate much of the medical jargon. Hearing me laugh while reading it, my wife became jealous as she struggled with the textbook-style pregnancy books - in the end she read the book as well and really enjoyed it.” “I loved this book...and when I give it back to my husband, who was reading it, I'm sure he will say the same. I have never laughed out loud or cried out loud with such frequency through one book. The story is so very familiar, but told with such wit that it really is uplifting - so refreshing after months of reading Gina and What to Expect.” “Heart-warming, funny and insightful.” “Realistic, witty and heartfelt. A great read for all dads-to-be. At times it’s hilariously funny.” “Informative and funny. Would deffo recommend for all those first-time dads out there.” “It is a really good book - a diary kept by a pregnant woman's boyfriend throughout her pregnancy - but is very honest and deals with some difficult issues. I'm now at the end of my pregnancy and with the benefit of hindsight I can see that much of what he records in his diary is accurate, frequently funny and probably universal.” “I originally bought this book for my husband, but wound up stealing it when my own pregnancy books got a bit dull. From beginning to end, it charts without apology the intimate ups-and-downs of a modern London couple. Andrew's style is reliable and witty - he makes you feel like they are a couple you've always been friends with. You laugh with their joys...” “I bought this for my fiance. He loves it. It's honest, funny and touching...”

Andrew Cullen is a journalist and a playwright whose work, Self Catering, was made into a BBC film. He received a Thames Television Award for his play Pig's Ear.

1Couldn't get past the first chapter
By Trigger Happy
I love reading so it's rare that I don't finish a book much less not making it to the second chapter. Being a new dad, I thought I would really enjoy this book. Unfortunately I was mistaken, maybe it gets better later in the book. Just couldn't bring myself to continue reading without falling asleep.

5Literary Excellence
By Amazon Customer
Darren, in his work, has sliced open emotions like a skilled surgeon with a scalpel, with his tools being ink and pen. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride his poetry took me on. Each piece rang with intelligence, love, pain and heat. I was not disappointed in any but was in fact completely inspired by his gift. He has an incredible ability to blend staunchly real situations with hot erotic sessions and poignant emotion. I had no trouble seeing the pictures he painted and felt I was watching a great mini film each time!! "Let My Soul Be Heard" is a must read! And so, I'm completely sure, will MONSTER be! The tantalizing peek into that will have me simmering on edge until it's release!

5Darren captures life!
By Sh' Moore
Mr. Moxam has taken the essence of the emotional state of existence and placed it into words that resonate in the reader's heart. After, ingesting much of his poetry and enjoying his photographic expressions, I settled in for a little bit of "grown up lit". Mind Trix made me think that I was in the middle of being explored! Darren's writing raises a woman's heart rate and body temperature...in a good way! He captures the male's vision of the sexual experience in graphic and realistic detail. I find something new to love in his book daily! What a wonderful collection of thoughts! Superb Darren! Your work makes me smile!

3Its a starting point...
By D & S mum
How, how is it possible that a book called "Europe for kids..." would offer only 20 pages to the countries of Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Swizerland? No, not 20 pages per country...20 pages IN TOTAL! Germany, Austria, and Switzerland easily deserve 20 pages (or more) a piece!

If you are looking for a guidebook to the touristy spots your children might enjoy, this may not be the book for you. If you want a book which will offer you prices and opening hours to attractions this is also not the book for you; very rarely are either offered. This book appears to have *some* helpful information and a few age specific pointers; it would be a great resource from your local library when you begin to plan your trip. When you want to get down to the meat of planning, you won't find a lot here. There is simply not enough substance here to justify the $18 price (especially when you consider Central Europe is but a whisper in this book!); surely at that price you are really paying for the beautiful photos.

On the pro side, each chapter has children's book suggestions for each country/region. Would like to have seen a longer list as notable books were left off the lists! Also enjoyable were the children's Top 10 lists for several countries. We will certainly be referring back to these. Finally, it was nice to see the inclusion of some recipes for each country. Although any google search could locate similar recipes, having them in one location as you prepare for the trip is handy. This book also has a decent amount of information (comparatively) on Turkey and Eastern Europe with kids.

This book was published in the UK. If you are in the US and considering this book, note that all prices given are either in pounds or euro. Also, most of the travel agencies listed are based in the UK.

2Not very useful
By B. Fulsom
This book seriously lacks specifics. At best it offers rough ideas for things to do, but it is far too general. Lots of nice colour pictures taking up precious space, but I don't need someone else's beautiful vacation photos when I plan to go for myself. Hardly any useful maps, brief descriptions, and whole geographic areas left out. The author admits as much in the book, but even then it is a little thin on content.

As a North American, I was also a little put off by the book's very UK-centric nature: aside from the lingo, there is a strong focus on Britain/Ireland and sun-seeker destinations like Greece, Spain, and Italy. There is almost nothing about Germany and Switzerland. The different destinations and particulars for newborns and toddlers versus teenagers are barely touched upon at the start of each chapter. Again, lots of generalities and few details.

Overall, a waste of money for the price.

2Lots of filler
By BigBrotherAmazon
Too much filler about common sense info on booking a flight which is not directly related to getting an upgrade. The main point seems to be to ask on the ground for an upgrade using various obvious techniques in my opinion, ask once flying if a business seat is available (don't want to give away the big secret for possible reasons)using some obvious reasons. This book was written in 2009 if not earlier and the some of these strategies assume once in flight there are actually empty business or first class seats and is not very realistic since they are almost always filled, given to valued customers before the flight even is fully seated. This is not 1999 post 911. One other advice is to pay for an upgrade. As flights are cut this strategy will make even less sense IMO. In summary just not worth the price...similar save on first or business class are sold on other online sites. Use common sense or ask other frequent flyers and save the money you would pay for the cost of this book. My advice if you are not a frequent flyer is to pick an airline that doesn't give away all it's empty seats to ff but sale empty business seats. I flew from Amsterdam to NYC on the great new business seats (really a bed) for $200 I paid when I checked in. Find an airlines that allow you to do those upgrades. You don't need a book to tell you that...even go to Trip Advisor or like sites for such advice.

4many options for first class upgrades
By Lucy C.
Yes, I am one of those not aware that airline packages are flexible, I didn't appreciate upgrades before because I thought it was cheap to haggle for it. This book helped me understand that I wasn't being cheap if I was truly entitled to it. Thank you for a very concise outline on my many options for first class upgrades.

5It's a thumbs up book. Concise and helpful
By Scott Robertson
I am one of those parents that believe in being prepared at all times. I also rely on my natural instinct when it comes to understanding and getting to know the needs of your child. However, with that said I've read a few books and magazines in parenting as well for personal wealth of information or comparison especially when it comes to the "what if".
This book is one of those reads. I'd recommend it to all the parents out there for it has all the strategies and guidance you need in potty training your child the easiest way possible. Step by step presentation and frequently asked questions from other parents. Parenting requires love and patience in teaching our kids learn how to become independent. This book surely made it easier, it’s a thumbs up.

5Then I found this book and I thought this is extremely helpful to first time parents like her and parents to be
By Mica Martin
My friend who's baby is growing fast keeps complaining about how difficult it is to train her child, especially in potty training. Then I found this book and I thought this is extremely helpful to first time parents like her and parents to be. You don't have to enroll to a class for this type of training for your toddlers because this book covers everything for you. I like the part that teaches parents to train two toddlers simultaneously and quickly too - it saves time. This book also suggests the type of chair to buy when potty training, at what age to start the training with your toddlers, and even teaches you how to dress. So I've recommended this book to her and also to all the beginners out there who wants potty training your toddlers a lot easier!

4Marvelous Potty training Book
By todd philip
parenting is one of the noble things in life. It not just something we do naturally, but it also a science. potty training should start early. you need to observe the signs in order to know when to begin training your kid. My wife and I participate in doing this training. this book allows me to understand how to do so. this book is being recomended to me by my wife. I start reading it and I thought it will be boring, but it wasn't. It was interesting and contains a lot of useful information. Potty training works at its own pace for every child. There is no default time. it is different from one child to another one.
