Why Have Babies: An Argument for Raising Children

Being a parent is a lifetime event and there are few guarantees. Nobody can foretell the future. We can only do our best and try to be optimistic about the outcome. At the end of the day whether by destiny, fortune, or accident the question remains; why have babies? Perhaps ultimately we do so because they will initiate a ­brighter ­outlook for generations to come.

This book is dedicated to our beautiful son Lyndon and our daughter Sherrie, our son-in-law Peter who is like another son to us, our adorable grandchildren who I could not be more proud of and most outstandingly, to my gorgeous husband Nigel, my very best friend, my soul mate and right arm, who has stood by me through thick and thin, with ­everlasting love. From the bottom of my heart I sincerely hope you will enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I would have liked something similar to read as a young mum, but could not find anything along the same lines. You will never discover all of the answers to child rearing in a book, but with knowledge comes strength. May each of you have a long and productive life. Take each day, one step at a time and may all your problems be little ones. Remember, you cannot buy memories, you have to make them. Love each other, hold hands with your neighbours and love the life that you have been given. And so as another chapter of your life begins may your God go with you. Been there, done that, then wrote the book. From one hell of a happy and contented ‘young’ Granny with ‘attitude’. Blessed are the children for they shall inherit the earth. Going to the Movies in Baltimore 1950s-1970s: An Affectionate Memoir

David Kaye fell in love with movies at an early age and spent much of the next thirty years or so going to movie theaters in and around Baltimore. He recalls the wide variety of theaters that he came to know and love - from the neighbourhood cinemas to the downtown picture palaces to the suburban multiplexes, many of which are now long gone - and some of the more memorable movies and stars that he grew up with. The movies both entertained and influenced him as a young boy in the 1950s, an impressionable teenager in the swinging 1960s, and an adult in the permissive 1970s. This is both a wistful and insightful personal account of that golden age of going to the movies.

David Kaye was born in Baltimore in 1948. He first started to write short stories in elementary school and progressed to writing the scripts for his high school's Christmas plays and annual spring musicals. Having been bitten by the theater bug, he went on to work in several regional repertory theaters as an assistant stage manager, a sometime actor, and the author of workshop productions. Later on, he wrote film and music reviews for the Chesapeake Weekly Review. Since moving to the UK in 1984, he has written plays for BBC Radio, revue skits, and occasional magazine articles. Some of his poems were translated for publication in a Russian poetry magazine. He has recently returned to writing with renewed inspiration producing several novellas as well as a couple of books of personal recollections. He now lives near London with his English wife Diane and their eccentric cat Willow.

For Travel "Newbies"

This book is full of a good variety of basic and detailed travel tips..I think they are very obvious things if you have traveled frequently...nothing new here. I was hoping for DEALS and tips on getting the best ones, so i am only giving this a 3. But it is more of a guide to taking the most prepared trip ever. Not the best price...or destination.
Reccommened if this is the first time you Fly, Cruise, Leave the country, or are traveling with kids or a group, ..this will have information that is helpful( weather, currency, safety including checklist and extra websites.)..
