4Fun Read
By Autumnbot
The Vic Armstrong book reads like you're having a lunch with the guy and you've brought his IMDB list with you, name a title and he'll tell you a story. He writes about each movie he has worked on, large or small (a lot of the better stories happened on the smaller movies). He talks to you like he's your cool uncle, or the uncle you wished you had, really down to earth, but at the same time you can tell he's got a twinkle in his eye as he's talking. He also seems really honest because he'll tell stories of set drama like it's office politics...well, office politics with millions of dollars on the line and lives at risk.

He started out as a horseman, but took on stunt work to help fund his racing. His first role was one of the ninja's in You Only Live Twice. He's been on almost every Bond movie since, not to mention being Indiana Jone's stunt double (the likeness is uncanny, it even fooled Ford's kid). Now he's a very in demand second unit director and stunt coordinator. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and if you're a movie buff I'm betting you will too. Very, very entertaining.

5The Fall Guy was a wussy!
By Cape Rust
This is a wonderful book for movie buffs, people who are intrigued by stunt work and film buffs alike. The conversational tone was just what this book needed. I never felt like the author was full of himself and he always seemed to understand that he was and never has been above or beyond great bodily harm or worse death. His respect for filmmaking and stunt work are a testament to his professionalism. The inclusion of vignettes from some of THE biggest names in Hollywood give the reader an outside perspective of Vic and how he is viewed by tinsel town. The inclusion of the photos really brought this book home for me and the extensive listing of Vic's film credits in the back of the book is nothing short of epic! Yes some of the movies were less than good or successful, but the list is almost unbelievable. This book is not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. As a resource for film students or aspiring stuntmen (stunt people) this book is a must! If you fit into any of the categories I mentioned in the first part of the review, this one is for you as well. Because of this book I will never watch movies in the same way, and that is a good thing. After reading this book I felt like I was part of the movie making process. Vic Armstrong really does make the Fall Guy look like a wussy. I would venture to say that the concept for the fall guy might have been based on Vic, but then I realized, the Fall Guy probably would have had to call Vic in to do most of the stunt work....
